Oil Pulling

If you follow my journey on social media you will know that I use coconut oil like it is going out of fashion! And one of the ways that I incorporate coconut oil into my day to day life is oil pulling!
I have personally experienced so many benefits from such a simple practice that I had to share it with you!
And let's be real; Who doesn't want to get brighter, whiter teeth and improve their health at the same time?
Oil pulling may seem like the newest trend but it is actually an ancient practice! The practice began in India around 4,000 years ago and is associated with Auyrveda.
Auyrveda is the traditional Hindu system of medicine which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing.

Oil Pulling reduces the amount of harmful bacteria in your mouth which results in a range of benefits from whitening your teeth, reducing inflammation and oral sensitivities whilst also treating and preventing tooth decay, bad breath and gum disease!

Take one tablespoon of good quality coconut oil and place it in your mouth
Swish the coconut oil around in your mouth vigorously for twenty minutes (If twenty minutes is not realistic for you I suggest doing it for as long as you can or simply incorporating it into your shower routine)
Once the time is up simply spit out the coconut oil and place a mouthful of warm water in your mouth and swish that around before spitting it out
Then simply brush your teeth as per usual

I explored oil pulling as I was looking for a natural way to whiten my teeth and after practicing it twice I was in love. It's cheap, natural, easy and effective. The two most dramatic differences I can see within myself are whiter teeth and my oral sensitivities are basically no more!
It has made such a positive impact in my life; I would encourage anyone and everyone to try it for themselves.
If I want to add further benefits to oil pulling I will add one drop of Peppermint or On Guard essential oil to my oil pulling practice.
Did you know that I've just added Fractionated Coconut Oil (in two different sizes) to the 'In Your Hands' collection?
I'll meet you there x
